Sample Taker Training - 2 Day Foundation Course
This 2-day foundation course is suitable for registered nurses or doctors who require training in cervical sample taking. Course content is in line with National Guidance. It is delivered by experienced primary care, cytology and colposcopy staff who work within the NHSCSP, thus ensuring all information presented is relevant and up to date.
Included in the course fee is a visit to the Southmead Cytology Laboratory, 2 external assessments and monitoring of your sample quality, with on-going feedback and support provided throughout the training period.

It is important before applying for a place on this course that you have the support of your employer.
Places are limited (12), and they are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis, across all practices within the BNSSG area. All applicants will be notified approximately 1 month prior to the course commencing, as to whether or not they have been successful. For GP employed sample takers, the course fee (£300 per person) is funded by the Avon Local Medical Committee.
