The Training Team The Centre Training Team are dedicated to making all courses educational and enjoyable. They are committed to a high quality service and possess a professional insight into the training needs of individuals employed within the screening programme. This is reflected in the diversity of courses offered by the Centre. Director – Dr. Karin Denton Karin Denton is a consultant cytopathologist and has been the Director of the Training Centre since 1995. Karin is an advocate of continuing professional development and believes that this is best delivered through quality training and the provision of easily accessible training courses. Dr. Denton is the Director of the South & West Regional Cervical Screening Quality Assurance Reference Centre. karin.denton@nbt.nhs.uk Deputy Director – Mr Mike Rowell Mike Rowell is a biomedical scientist who possesses the Fellowship of the Institute of Biomedical Science and a Masters degree in Training. Mike is also the manager of the South & West Regional Cervical Screening Quality Assurance Reference Centre and chairman of the NAC Executive Committee. mike.rowell@virgin.net Manager – Mrs Helen Burrell Helen Burrell is a biomedical scientist who possesses the FIBMS, a Masters degree in Cellular Pathology and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. Helen is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Training Centre and offers a high level of practical support to course participants. helen.burrell@nbt.nhs.uk Deputy Manager – Mrs Helen Hoskins Helen Hoskins is a biomedical scientist who possesses the FIBMS and a Masters Degree in Cellular Pathology. Helen assists in the preparation and delivery of cytology training and is able to offer guidance and support to course participants. helen.hoskins@nbt.nhs.uk Course Administrator – Mrs Carol Miles Carol has overall responsibility for all domestic arrangements and deals directly with the allocation of course places, accommodation and billing.
